Moriel Ministries

MORIEL MINISTRIES
is a teaching ministry to believers stressing the need to rediscover the Scriptures as Hebraic literature (as opposed to Hellenistic literature), demanding the hermeneutic models of Second Temple Period Judaism as a basis in biblical interpretation. Essentially this means an attempt to rediscover the methods of interpretation used by the New Testament writers.
We note the Sitz in Leben of Biblical Jewish culture along the lines of various scholars, but in order to see the greater depth of contained meaning we adopt an understanding of early midrashic models in addition to conventional grammatical-historical models of interpretation.
However, we reject as Gnostic any attempts to build doctrinal theology on symbolism or typology, although we press the need to use typology and allegory to illustrate and illuminate doctrine.

Dear All,

Old heretics never fade away ... they just keep coming back over and over again.  Take those who have divorced their wives and come back with a new wife.  Those who divorce for any other than what is allowed in the Bible are actually still living in unrepentant sin.  How then can they be "restored" to ministry in front of millions of people?  Divorcing on the basis of "irreconcilable differences" is not permitted in the Bible.  Therefore they continue to "practice" sin.

1 John 3:4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

When you practice something you get better at it.  The same is true of practicing righteousness.

1 John 3:7 & 10 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; ... By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

Why then do people follow those who practice sin?

Evangelical Leaders Embrace Syncretism
by Ingrid SchlueterCrosstalk America
Crosstalk America
10/9/10

Host: Brannon Howse
Guest: Ingrid Schlueter
Listen: RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD
Brannon begins by telling people that one of his greatest concerns is the rise of false teachings in America. He points out that as Christians we are called to expose such teachings and to destroy every argument raised up against the principles of Christ. With that in mind, Brannon described six characteristics of a false teacher:
--They will look and sound like Christians.
--They will produce fruit and doctrine that is anti-Christ.
--They love titles.
--They deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
--They have a form of godliness yet deny God, the gospel, and salvation through Christ alone.
--They proclaim a false Jesus and a false gospel.
Brannon shows how these characteristics are causing some evangelical leaders to be open to a syncretism/pluralism that has them attempting to seek common spiritual ground with those of Mormon, Islamic, and other unbiblical faith systems.Ingrid Schlueter draws an important conclusion by saying that although doctrinal distinctions won't go away completely, there's an obvious worldwide effort afoot to build a common "spiritual well" that everyone can draw from.

Manasseh Jordan: Letter to the People of St. Kitts and Nevis
by Bud Press, 10/6/10Christian Research Service

Manasseh Jordan claims to be a prophet of God, and is endorsed by American televangelists such as Benny Hinn, Mike Murdock, Paula White, and Paul Crouch of the Trinity Broadcasting Network. These people claim to be Christian, but in reality they are false prophets, false teachers, and false healers.

Todd Bentley is Back
by Jackie AlnorCrosstalk America
Crosstalk America, 10/1/10

Jackie Alnor is a Christian media watchdog and author of The Fleecing of Christianity. After a two year hiatus due to alleged moral failings, Todd Bentley, the controversial Florida pastor, is preaching again thanks to the work of men like Rick Joyner of Morningstar Ministries. Bentley is hardly alone when it comes to being controversial. Individuals such as John Avanzini and Benny Hinn are just two other names from the Word of Faith "Hall of Shame." These and other pastors continue to make headlines, not because they focus on the word of God, but because they are adept at convincing others that they can obtain whatever they want or think they need by chasing after the presence of God. By reviewing this edition of Crosstalk you'll become equipped to know what antics and false manifestations are taking place in churches that are being led by similar false teachers.

Are You A Contender Or A Pretender?
by Paul ProctorNews With Views

October 1, 2010

But, here in the increasingly "tolerant" western world, churches are, for the most part, being destroyed from within, leaving a different kind of casualty for Christians to grieve over. It is truly a sad thing to see and an all too common sight - one this writer has not only commented on numerous times, but also witnessed firsthand.
