There is a "River" that is flowing into congregations all over the world. Deceptively beautiful, it gently carries you along after you've stepped into its teasing current for the first time, until the powerful undertow eventually pulls you midstream. Once there, while you plunge headlong into raging whitewater, the other shoreline is suddenly evident. Strewn with the wreckage of human lives and littered with the debris of false doctrine, this "River's" farther shore is at last visible, and it is frightening. They never told you about this part. They wouldn't.

This website was born out of the need for the body of Christ to know about the dangers of the "River" movement. It goes by a lot of different names - the River Revival, Latter Rain, The Third Wave - and it is marked by bizarre manifestations, false prophecies and esoteric revelations. Warnings of divine retribution hold many adherents in a bondage of fear, making them afraid to speak out or even question those things they are taught and are witness to. But for the seeking heart, there is a way out, back into the freedom and simplicity of Christ Jesus, and to experience again the joy of following Him rather than the latest Christian fad.
It is my hope to provide in this web site the Biblical knowledge and tools to help the seeker to honestly examine the teachings, practices, and beliefs of the "River," swim to shore, and get shed of its murky waters.
Many have already done just that.

Paul Crouch's Granddaughter Exposes Corruption at TBN

Trinity Broadcasting Network's president and founder Paul Crouch Sr.'s policy of putting family members in positions of power at the largest "Christian" TV network in the world may have come back to bite him. His granddaughter, Brittany Crouch Koper, who served as TBN's chief financial officer, is accusing TBN "of unlawfully distributing charitable assets worth more than $50 million to the company's directors."

Olivet Nazarene University 105th School Added to Lighthouse Trails Contemplative School List

On Saturday morning, Lighthouse Trails received an e-mail from a concerned parent whose child is attending Olivet Nazarene University. The parent told us that Richard Foster's book Celebration of Discipline is part of a required Freshman course. We have also discovered that Spiritual Formation (i.e., contemplative spirituality) is integrated in various aspects of the school including their Christian Education program, Practical Ministries, Youth Ministry, and the School of Theology. Thus we have added Olivet Nazarene University to our list of Christian schools that promote Spiritual Formation.

In summary, the heavily coalescing global ecumenical movement is a counterfeit Christianity. It is rapidly blending with Liberal churches and an entire generation of pagans and churchgoers that have been born and steeped in societies rife with "politically correct" thinking and New Age Christ Consciousness Interfaith teachings. In the name of the ecumenical Jesus which cannot save from sin and hell, people around the world are embracing this movement as a movement of love, tolerance and unity. To many it is a movement where the Divine, the Silence, the Divine Mystery, mystical Ecstasy, Samadhi, Enlightenment and much more can all be experienced and where "archaic dogma" such as the Bible is downplayed and cast out. [33] Even things as extreme as consciousness altering contemplative (occult) meditation are taking place in churches that at one time used to effectively teach the Bible. The end result in all of this is a mystical system that utterly rejects Jesus Christ as the only way to God, or morphs Him into something He is clearly not. It is a system that is accepting of anyone and everyone that says that Mary is "Co-Redemptrix," that "Eucharistic Adoration" is true worship [34] and that "mystically" all paths can lead to God!
