From Church To Emerging Church

The issue of the Emerging Church and it's introduction into many churches and mission organizations has reached a critical point. Many do not understand what is being leavened into churches by the EC leadership. Many would be shocked to know their belief systems involve Universalism, New Age, defense of postmodernism, Interfaithism, and many other false doctrines. In order to reach out to this generation the EC leadership is proposing a whole new "map" to deal with what they perceive is a lack of understanding on the part of the churches on how to communicate. EC proponants believe the "scripture" for today is evolving and must change in order to reach postmoderns.

Featured Discernment Ministry
We have taken the initiative to do something about this in these Islands, that has not been done before. We have three main objectives. First - is to educate the community through the TV and the Internet. We have found cults very much dislike publicity. By making the public aware of what these groups really believe it prevents them from joining. In this way communities are made aware of the counterfeit groups evangelizing their neighborhoods. By sending out written information or making it available on the net we are able to give people an intelligent choice made on the facts from two sides instead of only one.
Second- to awaken the church to the activities of these groups and the mainstreaming of the New Age movement that has solidified itself in the schools, workplaces, the media and even the church. By equipping believers with the tools and effective ways to witness we can successfully see those involved in false spirituality abandon their practices and receive Christ.
Third- to Equip the church to be able to communicate better to those in the cult groups where they differ from historic Christianity and to have them understand we are being friends to them by telling the truth, not their enemy. With a heart of compassion and patience we want to labor to convey the message of grace in Christ and his saving work.

Theater Church - Spectacles, Stories and Diminishing Scripture

Old or Just Sensitive? - The New (Age) Music in the Churches Today

I'm a forty year old but one would think I'm eighty years old! That is if you listen to worship in today's churches. Gone are the days of lovely, Word inspired hymns. No, it will not attract the young crowd! See why I am feeling old? The well-dressed choir has been replaced with head-banging young children, jumping up and down. The song with words that you can hear and understand has changed into a blur of noise with screams that hurt my ears (Old Gump!)

The central issue with the Blackabys, as well as with gurus teaching the Contemporary Spirituality/Mysticism of Foster-Willardism, is that their "experience" always ends up interpreting the Bible for them. However, this is absolutely backward-and sure to lead to spiritual disaster. In fact, this is really the exact same dead-end road that would end up producing the centered on the self (i.e. mankind) theology of apostate Roman Catholicism in the first place.

Since Plass never gives a clear presentation of the gospel, these quotes and stories leave a great deal of rubbish left unswept from the pathway of those on the Christian journey. While there are some helpful insights in Jesus - Save, Tender, Extreme, these pieces of rubbish are likely to trip up the unsuspecting traveler.
