Dear All,

This issue is all about the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous Peoples movement. The ideas being spread by this group are some of the most dangerous ever to effect the cause of Christ. If you are living in a Western country you may not have been exposed to this stuff. Mike Oppenheimer and I wrote the book on this subject called "Idolatry In Their Hearts" a number of years ago. That book represents documented research into scores of books, radio programs and videos on the teachings of people like Daniel Kikawa and Richard Twiss. Current Bible translation issues are also tied to this subject as many Bible societies are following the ideas of this movement which is backed by the New Apostolic Reformation and reiterated by Emerging Church leadership. See my artcle "Blasphemizing The Bible" which is one of the chapters from the "Idolatry In Their Hearts" book. Stay tuned as I will soon be releasing a DVD on that subject.

Nanci is a First Nations Canadian Cree woman who is the daughter and granddaughter of medicine men. Growing up, her life was filled with the practices and mystical experiences brought on from Native Spirituality. Today, as a born-again Christian, Nanci warns of these dangers as she sees many of her Native American Christian brothers and sisters incorporating Native Spirituality into their spiritual lives and also sees many non-Native Christians incorporating Native Spirituality into their own lives. A deep love for both Native Americans and non-Natives is what motivated Nanci to write Muddy Waters. It is also what has motivated Lighthouse Trails to publish the book. We would never want to give the impression that we or Nanci have any animosity toward Native Americans. On the contrary, we are very aware and deeply grieved about the injustices and cruel and prejudiced treatment that Native Americans have received in the past and sometimes still do. Two Major Denominations Release their Findings on Father and Son Terminology

This month, the Assemblies of God (AOG) USA and the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) study committees have released their reports on the use of Father and Son in translation. The reports are for use by the respective denominations to deliberate on their relationship to translation societies such as Wycliffe/SIL and involved organizations such as Frontiers, and to serve as a greater impetus for mission engagement.

Idolatry In Their Hearts
