Walking the Waves by Juanita Simpson
This book was written by my mother and is about my family's experience as missionaries in Micronesia. Juanita went to be with the Lord in August of 2018. This book has been a blessing to many people around the world and I want to share it with you. - Sandy Simpson This is the story of a young woman who goes to the ends of the Earth with her pastor husband and two small children. While describing the hardships of living in a remote village on a remote Pacific Island in the 60's, it also gives us a vision of the joy the family experienced as well. The heart of the book is the story of how the author survives the death of her husband and goes on to serve God and the Micronesian people in her own right. This book reveals a woman of great faith and courage. In addition, the book is well written and a pleasure to read.Having met the author, I will add that there are thousands of people throughout Micronesia who love her and who have benefited by her faithfulness and commitment over the years. Read the book and get to know this wonderful woman. Review by Richard D. Shewman on Amazon.

DITC e-Newsletter
Volume 75, Issue 4 |
Dear Friends,
The problem is not that people have forgotten about God so much as they are a product of rebellion against God which produced the sinful nature. Thus they are forever apart from God until they respond to the Gospel message and admit they are desperately wicked.
We need your prayers! Follow the donation link if you wish to help support this ministry. You can order products by clicking on them below! As always, you can see the DITC e-Newsletter archive here and sign up to receive this newsletter or unsubscribe there as well.

The Desert Fathers-Borrowing From the East |
by Ray Yungen, 6/14/19
Catholic priest William Shannon in his book, Seeds of Peace, explained the human dilemma as being the following: "This forgetfulness, of our oneness with God, is not just a personal experience, it is the corporate experience of humanity. Indeed, this is one way to understanding original sin. We are in God, but we don't seem to know it. We are in paradise, but we don't realize it."1 Shannon's viewpoint defines the basic underlying worldview of the contemplative prayer movement as a whole. One can find similar quotations in practically every book written by contemplative authors. A Hindu guru or a Zen Buddhist master would offer the same explanation. This conclusion becomes completely logical when tracing the roots of contemplative prayer. Let us look at the beginnings of this practice.

'Christian' Television in Light of Bible Prophecy (Reprint from Scattered Sheep blogspot Oct. 12, 2012) |
by Jackie Alnor, 6/16/19
"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple." - Romans 16:17-18 The Apostle Paul says to avoid those who serve themselves, use smooth words, and deceive the hearts of those who are not grounded in God's word and promote false doctrine and are offensive. They bring division in the church because error divides. Those who do not want to join in with false teachers or who warn others not to support them are labeled by the majority as the divisive ones, but Scripture commands us to note them and avoid them. The division is caused by those who flatter to gain an advantage over others, not the voices of opposition to their pernicious ways. Any Christian with spiritual eyes to see the signs of the times does not doubt that we are in the final minutes of the Armageddon Clock. The countdown actually began as soon as the Church was birthed. The Apostle John in his second epistle said "it is the final hour" and that was almost 2,000 years ago. In Romans, Paul tells us "that knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed." We're fast approaching the perilous times the apostles said would happen before the rapture of the bride and the judgment of the planet. There are perils increasing on every front: political, social, moral, economical, technological. Wars and rumors of war, earthquakes, famine, pestilence - you name it, we're seeing it. These birth pangs are increasing and there's no turning back until they run their course. But as the church in the last days, we're in collective denial of the dangers on the spiritual landscape. The ten virgins in the parable of the coming of the Bridegroom were all asleep when He came - reminiscent of how the apostles slept while Jesus sweat blood in the Garden of Gethsemane. Even enthusiasts of eschatology can see clearly the signs of the times all around us, but when it comes to the prophesied condition of Christendom before the Parousia, many cannot connect the dots. Those who do not believe in a Premillennial view of Bible prophecy and deny we're in the end times, by virtue of their blindness to the fact, are sitting ducks for the deceptions the Bible warns us about regarding these perilous times.

Temple Mount (Series) |
at Biblical Archeology, 6/18/19
Considered sacred ground even before Biblical times and bitterly contested in our own day, the Temple Mount is one of the most fascinating and important places on earth. We've selected several articles that highlight the Temple Mount's role in the three great Western religions and focus on a key archaeological issue: Just where was the ancient Jewish Temple located? The articles below were hand-selected by the Biblical Archaeology Review editors especially for members of the BAS Library.
