Giants still fall with a right placed rock (the Word). Jer. 23:29 " Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces ?” Ps. 18:31 “ who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God” 2 Sam. 22:32 1 Sam 17:1 begins by telling us “Now the Philistines gathered their armies together to battle, v.4 And a champion went out from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, from Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. Decked in heavy armor from head to toes, he was huge v:7 the “staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam, and his iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekel (which makes it 12 plus pounds) The challenge went out V:8-9 “Choose a man for yourselves, and let him come down to me. If he is able to fight with me and kill me, then we will be your servants. But if I prevail against him and kill him, then you shall be our servants and serve us.” V,10-11 “I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together." When Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid .” V.16 he did this for 40 days. They looked at the outward appearance and were intimidated by his size. When David heard what was taking place he went to the battlefield. His own brothers mocked him for leaving the sheep and coming to the battle (1 Sam. 17:28), Little David came forward for the challenge. David could not wear the king’s armor, it was too heavy for him, he had to be able to move and fight the way he was trained. Goliath was large but not quick. The giant mocked David as he came out with no armor and only a sling.

Jude 1:1-2 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James, To those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ: Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. Jude was the brother of Jesus Christ. But it is significant that he calls himself the brother of James. Jude wants everyone to know that, though he is a half-brother of Jesus Christ through his mother Mary, he considers himself to be a servant of Jesus. I’m sure there were those who tried to idolize him for being the brother of Jesus Christ. If he had the character of some of the current large crop of false teachers, he would have written “Jude, the brother of Jesus Christ.” I’m sure if some of these modern heretics could trace their roots back to Christ, they would use that information to get support for themselves and power over people. But Jude does just the opposite. He calls himself the servant of Jesus Christ. He is addressing this letter to those who have been called, and who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ. So he is addressing this letter to Christians. God has called every true believer.

“While the troupe dances, you’ll notice that they have the same hand and finger positioning as the goddess, as depicted in the portraits, statues, and graven images of her. There is also a large lotus featured prominently in the background screen, the same as Kuan Shi Yin.” (Protestia) A recently unearthed video from Hillsong Sweden shows their 2018 Christmas service extravaganza featured a dance routine on the stage that is traditionally done to honor the Buddhist deity Kuan Shi Yin, incorporating the “dance of a thousand hands” into a service designed to worship Christ.

LTRP Note: The following letter to the editor is one we received a few years ago, referring to a book review about Brennan Manning’s book, The Signature of Jesus. The review was written by John Caddock and was the first piece we ever read on the Internet refuting contemplative prayer shortly after we met Ray Yungen and read his then-unpublished manuscript A Time of Departing over twenty years ago. This book review by Caddock has opened the eyes of many people and is still doing so today as this letter reveals. Below the letter is the full review. As with all our blog articles, you can print it freely. It is also available in booklet format for those needing that. We are reposting this because the contemplative prayer movement is having more negative impact in the church than ever before, and the influence of pioneers like Brennan Manning remains robust. Keep in mind that while many of our long-time readers are fully aware of the dangers of the contemplative prayer movement and have personally stayed clear of it, there is probably not one of them who does not have a family member or friend who is not delving into this. We have gone through a mystical occult paradigm shift, and there is no turning back.
