This newsletter is an update on the ACT ministry.
As some of you know I am a full time commissioned missionary with an evangelical faith mission that has been around since 1899 and was started by a friend of Hudson Taylor. My father, mother, sister and myself have been on the mission field in the islands since 1962, and my own family since 1989. Our mission is to reach out to Pacific islanders with the Gospel message and discipleship. We teach two Bible studies a week for Micronesian islanders from many islands, many of whom are in leadership positions in the island churches here on Oahu and across the Pacific. In 2001 a church organization graciously gave us a grant to buy a 15 passenger van with which I pick up Bible study participants twice weekly. Since gas prices are the highest in the nation here in Hawaii, my gas bill for that van, which is used exclusively for ministry, is about $50. weekly. Other fees have gone sky high in Hawaii such as my van registration which is over $400. per year now, our electric, water and sewer bills which have doubled in the last couple of years without our usage going up, food which has recently gone up noticeably in price from where it still is at the top of prices in the nation. So we need extra help and have always depended on the Lord to provide through faithful Christians.
The ministry of ACT has people all over the world who have been helped by our website and newsletter. We continue to get good reports of changed lives. We also get our share of criticism and outright persecution. But the Lord has been faithful and I know many of you have been praying for us.
Right now, due to the economy and increased costs of living in the islands,
I need to ask that you prayerfully consider giving to this ministry. Please consider ordering one of our
products or making a
donation. Simply follow the guidelines on the
donation link if you wish to help support this ministry. As always, you can see the DITC e-Newsletter archive
here and sign up to receive this newsletter or unsubscribe there as well.
Let us uphold one another in prayer, in encouragement and in information on what is going on in the churches. I thank the Lord for those of you who are Bereans. May the Lord continue to bless you as you practice discernment and help others to become mature in Christ.
In His hands,
Sandy Simpson
