I want to start his report by thanking many of you who have been praying for us and supporting us financially. We continue to need your help as I continue in many of the ministries I was involved with after we left the islands.
The Lord put me smack into the path of apologetics and discernment ministry around 1996. That is while we were living in Guam and a number of people from the Brownsville Assembly of God came there to do meetings. Not being familiar with what they were doing I attended some of their meetings until I realized what they were doing was very unbiblical. I then wrote a paper and took it to a Guam Ministerial Association meeting because all the member pastors of the GMA had been invited to attend, and many of them did. I wrote my paper carefully comparing what was said and done there with what the Bible teaches. About halfway through my presentation I was shut down by both the members and a large group of others who had been invited who were Brownsville sympathizers and not GMA members. They then presented me with a letter they had crafted to tell me to stop talking bad about Brownsville, citing phrases like "judge not lest you be judged", "touch not the Lord's anointed" and Gamaliel's advice "Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."(Acts 5:38-39) That was the last GMA meeting I attended as it had become clear that many had given their discernment over to emotionalism. I could give you a detailed account, but suffice it to say that was the day the Lord began to turn me from being a musician doing evangelism into an apologist. I would never have envisioned getting involved in that kind of ministry but I could see the invasion of apostasy invading the islands and knew the Lord was calling me to stand in the gap.
I started Apologetics Coordination Team with a website called "Deception in the Church" in 1996. Actually the Internet had not come to Guam fully at that time so I started the ministry on what was known as a BBS - Bulletin Board Service where people had to connect directly via phone with my computer to access articles. I began to reach out to like-minded ministries for help and advice at that time, and there were very few online. One of those was Moriel Ministries and Jacob Prasch. He had already been setting forth solid apologetics against the Toronto "Blessing", of which Brownsville was an extension" along with others like Bill Randles and Dave Hunt. I was very grateful for their support during that time because I had begun to feel like Jeremiah who was thrown into a cistern. But the Lord was gracious and took me into a detailed study of the Scriptures to help me understand what was going on. I began to write articles and later books and DVDs to help the Christian leadership of the islands of Micronesia cope with what was coming. I did conferences with island church groups, attempting to give them precepts to help them stand in the face of this flood of heresy. Some listened and others did not.
Suffice it to say I was amazed at what transpired over the coming years with my web site. It began to be accessed by people all over the world struggling with the issues of the Latter Rain, New Apostolic Reformation, Word of Faith, Emergent Church and other modern false teachings. I began to write more articles of my own but also collect and offer links to all the best apologetics sites and authors. By the early 2000's my site was receiving 1-2 million hits per month from virtually every country of the world. I dedicated myself to answering email questions, sometimes many per week, and give people the Biblical and discernment article resources to cope with their situations. I then began to write a number of books on these subjects and later produced DVDs. Some of those books include "
Discernment Toolkit", "T
he New Apostolic Reformation", "
Idolatry in their Hearts", "
Bible Studies in Discernment", "
Letters to the Church", "
Finish The Race" and others which are available on my site at
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com.
Later I began to produce DVDs from these books and articles because I saw a growing tendency for people to watch DVDs instead of reading. I also began to help Moriel Ministries with article editing and some video post production. I may be helping them record some video conferences in the future. I continue to produce my own materials. Some of the recent projects are as follows: I produced a 3 DVD series from a course I taught at our local church here in North Carolina, a shortened version of
Church History followed by a short course on the Core Doctrines. I have also produced some DVDs from recent articles such as "
The Future of Discernment and Apologetics Ministries", "
The Fallacious Arguments of New-Universalists", "
Prophets for Profit", etc.
I am currently team teaching through 1 Corinthians in our Sunday school at our church.
I have to pay for a number of web sites including ACT domain and hosting, Payloadz which is what I use to provide a place to download many of the DVDs, CDs and books I have available (especially because overseas shipping has become too expensive for most people), Constant Contact which is the service I use to send out a free weekly newsletter to 900+ active members, Podomatic which is the service I use to stream free messages and other services. Back when I started orders on the web supported what I have been doing and helped us with our living expenses. But for the last few years sales of discernment materials have slowed to a crawl for most apologetics ministries I am in contact with. Both Moriel and myself have been offering increasingly more DVDs free on YouTube and ROKU which we are happy to do but which often leaves us with less support. It is not that we are doing these ministries in order to make money, but it does cost us considerably to produce materials, especially books. Don't get me wrong: I am very thankful for many of you who continue to support these ministries and we have never been in it to make money. But this is just to inform you that we are doing all we can to help people all over the world and your continued financial support would be greatly appreciated.
More than that, your prayer support is key. We often deal with individuals who are demonized or mentally unstable. We need your prayers so that God will give us wisdom on how to deal with the many situations He puts in our paths. If you want to continue to support ACT you can do so directly through Moriel Ministries, who has been gracious enough to collect support from people who want a tax-deducible yearly receipt for taxes. You can send support for the Simpson Family through David Lister, Moriel USA, P.O. Box 100223, Pittsburgh, PA 15233. You can make your check out to "Moriel Minstries" and put "support for Sandy Simpson" in the note section of the check.
You can also send us support directly by using the donate button in this newsletter, filling in any amount you wish to give, or you can send us a check by mail made out to "Alexander Simpson".
Please pray for me as I continue to be in contact from people all over the world, including the islands. I trust that the Lord still has plans to save a number of people before He returns.
Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
